Fabiana tells us about her fitness journey, how she rarely passes up on french fries and why her family makes her happy.
Fabiana Ferrarini is a certified personal trainer, international fitness model, wife, and mother of two boys living in Philadelphia. In January 2016, Fabiana became the first Latina to appear on the cover of Oxygen Magazine. We’re super excited to have her on our podcast this week!
Jumping right in: what makes Fabiana happy? Besides fitness, her family (They keep her feeling loved and supported.) and God (He keeps her grounded in this often scary world.) Let’s start with what she shared about health and exercise.
When Fabiana appeared on the cover of Oxygen magazine, it happened shortly after she finished their 90-day Ultimate Fitness Challenge. Oxygen magazine quoted her as saying “My mental strength was tested throughout the challenge and there was no way I was going to give in.†This happened during the summer. You know, that period of time when delicious barbeques are taking place and you’re constantly getting social invites. Despite this and the day-to-day tasks of being a wife and mother, Fabiana embraced this time as an opportunity to help her change from inside out. As she tells it, looks are looks, but it’s important to make yourself a priority and be strong mentally. Her closeness to her family helped her achieve this goal.
Fabiana shares that no matter what she goes through, she can always look to her family who support and bring out the best in her. Besides her husband and kids, she is incredibly close to her mother, sister and brother, both figuratively and physically (She can run to her sister’s house and take a quick trip to see her parents and brother who live down the street.). She loves the expected/unexpected family gatherings and reminiscing about old memories. All around, they make her happy. Even when they didn’t understand her fitness journey at first (WHO passes up on mom’s tortillas?!), they ended up being her number one supporters throughout her fitness journey.
Speaking of which, this didn’t start because she felt like she was too big or was unhappy with her curves. She was simply a young mother who wanted to be healthy and keep up with her kids! Now she gets to pass on her lifestyle knowledge and be a cool strong mom. In addition to sharing her thoughts on the importance of family, that is.
“It’s very important to make time for yourself.â€

These are family values Fabiana learned very early in life. Growing up, her father made sure to talk to them about how important it was to stick together. They ate dinner together every night and sometimes even breakfast. Family time was more important than friend time. This is something she is sharing with her boys now. Although they may not always understand it, she’s teaching her sons to protect and be close to their cousins like siblings. It’s important for her to teach them that these are the people that will be there for you when you need them most.
Fabiana gave birth to her oldest son, Enrique, the summer after she finished high school. While she commuted to school every day, her parents took care of him and helped her achieve her goals. It took a lot of weight off of her shoulders to know they were close and her baby was in safe hands. She and her husband take situations like this into consideration when thinking about moving somewhere tropical – which they would love to do! More fulfilling than living in a beautiful place surrounded by palm trees, she explains, is being close to her parents, who love her unconditionally, and her siblings who are her best friends. Besides, if she wants to take a moment to recharge somewhere beautiful, she will take a solo trip with her husband (Fun fact: she still misses her family when she goes on these.).
What else makes Fabiana happy besides family? Eating french fries and the color purple (Literally the color. Not the book.), and the word amazing. You can learn more about her by visiting her website and Instagram.
